Spiritual Sunday - The Power of Tea

There is no trouble so great or grave that is can not be diminished by a nice cup of tea
Bernard-Paul Heroux

Sometimes there is no words or actions that can make a week any better than it was, this week just gone was one of them.  Mum broke her arm and mini mad has discovered a rage inside, which has started to cause issues at preschool.  I have felt pulled in every which way.

My mum is OK, sore and in a pot from fingertips to elbow and a sling, but she can still go on holiday to Florida with my brother next week and once she was all cleaned up and deal t with by the NHS all she wanted was a cup of tea.

Mini, well that it a different matter, his newly discovered temper is getting the better of him and has shown an appearance twice at Preschool this week.  Myself and the preschool staff are working on mini's issue, but a nice pot of tea did help to put things in perspective for me.

I think a lot of it is in the act of making a pot of tea for me, the warming of the pot, the spooning of the leaves, the allowing to brew, the anticipation and then the 10 minutes alone in the kitchen to drink it.  Both the boys know that if I ask for a cup of tea in peace that I mean it now.  It gives me time to breath, to reflect and to put things in to perspective.

We have a Sunday of visiting today, I hope you have a good Sunday too.

Shall I put the kettle on? Oh, and do you (if you take it) put the milk in first? Sugar? And does it taste better in a cup and saucer? Oh, the art of tea.... like you, I love it.
I have a cup and saucer and yep I pop the milk in first (dont want to crack the cup now do we dear, as my great gran would say). No sugar for me. I also have a mug too, so for me it depends on the mood!
oh I shall put a link to this for the T Tueesday gang ! My post will be on a similar theme.

It will get better Jen - he's growing & confused & lashing out. I've seen this before & they grow into lovely boys !

Just a thought - have you ever had his hearing tested ?

Keep going & keep drinking that tea ! xx
I see! I'm clearly not the only one having tea thoughts.

Try not to fret too much about mini - they all go through such phases as small people and they tend to pass (even though they may be unpleasant while in the midst of them). Plenty of tea, that ought to do it.
Sorry to hear of your stressful week. Keep drinking the tea ;) x
Your week sounds stressful. I'll go and put the kettle on. Sending hugs.
Coffee for me please, but I completely understand the ritual. I get distressed if anyone else does the plunger on the cafetiere. I think it's a yoga thing - for those mindful seconds I'm pushing the plunger I'm not thinking about anything else. And I have several mugs but only one is the right one at any given time. Am I a freak?
I'm sorry you've had a stressful time. At least you're turning to tea and not whisky. :) Enjoy your five minutes of peace.
I love a cup of tea but most times mine has gone cold by the time I remember!
I must admit I've never quite gotten the whole tea thing. Or coffee. It must be because of my sweet tooth, and I don't see the point in adding half a cup of sugar to it to make it yummy enough - I can do without the calories! When I first moved over here, I realised I was missing out with the tea situation, as everyone else at work would congregate in the kitchen for tea breaks. So I've learnt to drink herbal tea, which is fine, but can be very expensive when in cafes.
